Sustaining the long-term economic health of Lander County is the goal of the multi-faceted Lander County Sustainable Development Committee. In simple terms, the goal is to end the boom bust cycle that is typical of Nevada's rural communities which have been tied to the extraction of natural resource and those commodity prices since turning from territory to state.

By reaching out to all walks of life in Lander County, the Sustainable Development Committee is helping shape a new future vision with the region's residents.
